Habitat for Humanity is a global housing charity that fights poverty by building safe and decent homes where families and communities around the world can thrive. All over the world, 1.6 billion people live without adequate shelter, in slums that are unsafe, unsanitary, and simply degrading to human life. The inhabitants live in constant fear of forced eviction, building their lives day by day at the whim of powers outside of their control. Every year, millions of these people have to rebuild everything they have due to disasters both natural and manmade.
